Free entry (no purchase necessary)

No bet is necessary to enter a Hit Engine prize draw. You can enter any round free of charge by post, and a postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning as an entry made with a bet.

Who can enter by post

You must be 18 or over. You must not be resident in a territory where receiving a prize of this kind is unlawful — it is your responsibility to check. Hit Engine staff and their immediate families may not win a prize.

Unlike the bet route, postal entries are not covered by Stake’s own age and territory checks. We rely on the statement you make when you enter, and we will void an entry that turns out to be false.

How to enter by post

Send a postcard or a single sheet of paper, handwritten, giving:

your full legal name
your postal address
your Stake username (this is how a prize would be paid)
the name of the round you are entering

to the address published on Terms.

The rules of the postal route

One entry per envelope. Each entry must be in its own separately hand-addressed, separately stamped outer envelope. Several entries in one envelope count as one.
Handwritten. Printed, photocopied, or mechanically reproduced entries do not count.
The same per-person limit applies. The per-user cap published for a round is counted across both routes combined — postal entries and bet entries together. Entering by post does not raise your ceiling.
Received by the round’s close. Your entry must physically arrive on or before the round closes. We do not count postmarks.
Bulk mailings are void. Multiple entries posted from one address in a way intended to defeat the per-person limit are voided under the void clause in the Raffle rules.

What happens to your entry

A valid postal entry is added to the round’s entry list by hand and appears in the public entry list alongside every other entry, identified by your Stake username. The number of postal tickets in each round is published.

Postal entries are drawn in exactly the same way, from the same sealed list, using the same public randomness, as every other entry.

What we do with your details

Your name and postal address are used only to check the per-person limit and to resolve a dispute if one arises. They are not published, and they are not used for marketing. See Privacy for how long we keep them.
